  Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread

  this topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.

  latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

  the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

  Korea has a single ethnicity with few immigrants, no language barrier and still has a strong sense of family. And a smaller geographic area. And a nearly dictatorial government.

  Contrast my city with 30 plus languages, muslim women who cannot touch a man ( minor), and a need for translation. Then add in the panicked people clogging the energency services. That is not all it though. Add the jealousy of the big suburbs working contrary to what the big core city does. There is rivalry among the hospitals so they do not cooperate on exchanging records. Different computer formats that cant read the other

  I mistrust numbers that can be massaged we see that all the time. What the news says is not we peons see

  My wife's meetings are canceled; my son's KH has issued nothing, no cancelations, no guidelines for interactions, nothing

  Same here. Every other congregation in the area has canceled but mine. Some gave no guidance on service or memorial work. I heard some went to the meeting for service and no one else showed. I wonder if the no show elders here were the ones voting against

  The one thing that letter shows is the GB has no clue about earning a living.

  There are not enough alternate homes, competent brothers ( or sisters) or connections. If you think the broadcasts are boring, just wait until you see the locally produced stuff

  Who is going to put on the show? The elders here are old, and someone would have to run the sound box. I am not spiritually qualified to even clean now. I will do any non spiritual thing in my meager power for neighbors or even strangers. I am old so in the high risk group and have health concerns that qualify.

  No word from the elders here today, they should be canceling because of trumps 10 suggestion.

  i went to my local walmart today and most of the can goods and frozen foods were sold out.

  i did a web search from where i buy ammo from, lucky gunner, sg ammo, buds and others.

  bulk ammo is sold out just over night.

  the so called military grade is a misnomer. You cant actually get one. A scary grip or unreliable aftermarket magazine dont changexthings. The bayonet rule was a joke--if you can stab someone you are way close enough to shoot.

  But dont panic😊 the real i information is obscured by sensationalism. The politicians take 45 minutes to tell 5 minutes directions.

  Easy: is the food supply chain broken? Are there enough masks? Are rhere plans for social unrest--and not the usual cops with shields. We need to pay our rent.

  The gun background is now 2 days or more. 3 and the law says to sell anyway. I both know I can pass and dont need another.

  I already noted few have suitable homes, dirty places. 3 elders were coming to do their psrts while noticably sick.

  Why the change?

  possible cancelling the memorial after years of experiences of bro/sis under nazi , communist oppression and many other countries still conducting the memorial under threat of death that the governing body is listening to the superior authorities regarding this virus pandemic.. could it be that after taking control of the k/halls that the branch/governing body would be responsible for any disobedience to the civil authorities and liable for any deaths.. they would have left upto the local body of elders and encouraged obedience to god rather than men and a lack of faith in jehovah to protect his people..

  The memorial isnt canceled. Having it in a big meeting is improbable this year. In nazi Germany they couldnt rent a school to start with.
